Abstract

We propose a model that would incorporate the "focusing properties" of a lensed multimode fiber in our simulation. We use the electromagnetic field approach to solve the eigenvalue equations that will describe the different modes propagating in a multimode step-index (SI) fiber. The derived linearly polarized (LP) modes are used as the input fields. The behavior of the output beam's spot size is observed at the focal plane upon varying the parameters.
