Abstract

Education prepares people for the future and hence should have a feedback mechanism reflecting the societal change/need and physics education is no exception. Along with the ongoing transition to knowledge-based economies, the equal access to scientific knowledge is a fundamental prerequisite for sustainable development and world peace. The use of current information and communication technology (IT) will contribute greatly to educational quality improvement for all by overcoming any barrier including space and time and by promoting active learning and interactive-engagement modes of education, known superior to the traditional passive one. The use of IT for improving physics education is briefly discussed with emphasis on resource sharing for such an end at the intra- as well as inter-national level.
