Reconstruction of 3D objects by phase-shifting digital holography
Abstract
A hologram is recorded using a charged-coupled device (CCD) camera. The three-dimensional (3D) image of the object is reconstructed from the digitally sampled hologram by means of numerical methods. The 3D nature was demonstrated by numerical focusing of the digitally reconstructed images at a particular cross-section of the 3D image. The phase-shifting technique can improve the image quality by suppressing the zero-order diffraction and conjugate image. Basic principles and experimental verification are described.
