On the magnetohydrodynamics Couette flow
Abstract
Motivated by the recent developments in the theory of fluid turbulence we use a single set of magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) equations obtained through a projection and perturbation formalism to calculate velocity profiles of the MHD Couette flow in laminar and turbulent regimes. We display non-stationary velocity profiles in presence of a uniform magnetic field and show that the model is consistent with theories where particle structure plays a role in explaining turbulence.
