Experimental investigation of factors affecting the production of transmission of holograms
Abstract
In order to produce high quality transmission holograms, a number of requirements must be met. This paper reports the results of experiments to investigate these. Of the two-types of holograms (reflection and transmission) the focus of this work is on transmission holograms. Characteristics of exposure time, film type and film-object distances have been investigated experimentally and are related to a theoretical description of holography.
Holography is a technique used to reconstruct three-dimensional images by recording both the phase and amplitude of light reflected from an object. Holography techniques are used in interferometry for basic research and applications. In fact, research on structure evaluation using double-exposure holographic interferometry has been reported by local researchers.
