Abstract

The aim of this study is to initiate quantification of physical processes occurring in the negative fall region of the negative glow discharge using binary collisions as a model. Since this is the first of its kind done in the National Institute of Physics, the assumptions lead to much idealization or simplification, but it does show the application of the theories learned to actual situations available. The study is two-dimensional, so it is still not ready to be verified experimentally. It will provide basis, however, for a more realistic three-dimeasional approach.
