Abstract

A phase diagram of the Bi-2212–Bi2O3 system was constructed using the Differential Thermal Analysis (DTA). The solidus and liquidus lines were obtained. The phase diagram shows that <10% weight Bi2O3 (or 1:0.3) can be used for the growth of Bi-2212 films at a corresponding growth temperature region of 828–869 K. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis were recommended for verification and determination of possible intermediate phases present in the system. Data from the phase diagram may be used for the Liquid Phase Epitaxy (LPE) self-flux growth technique.
