Abstract

The temporal coherence characteristics of channeled substrate planar (CSP) laser under large-signal current modulation are described. It is found that under this type of modulation, the tuning range, the number of mode-hopping points, and the intramode scan profiles are strongly dependent with the driving frequency. A discussion on the various applications of wavelength modulation in laser spectroscopy and non-destructive metrology ends this paper.
