A fast AD converter interface for the IBM
Abstract
Analog to digital (AD) conversion of data and its subsequent processing by a computer is an important part of any large scale data gathering process. For the IBM PC/XT, the speed of AD conversion is limited by the inherent memory refreshing process which occurs every 30 microseconds. A method is proposed here to use the 'memory refresh' itself to initiate the AD and to avoid any overlapping between the two.
