Synchrotron radiation application: past, present and future

Abstract

The development of synchrotron radiation source is reviewed, and the present status of synchrotron radiation facilities and application activities thereon are overviewed. Emphasis is placed on the impact and the wide opportunities opened up with the advent of the soon-to-come generation of new synchrotron radiation facilities on science and technology in the 90's and the next century. Future development of synchrotron radiation source in the next century is discussed.
