CP violation in the neutral B meson decays
Abstract
In particle physics we now have a good theory, consisting of Weinberg-Salam theory of the electroweak interactions among leptons and quarks, and quantum chromodynamics of the strong interactions among quarks and gluons. This standard model of elementary particles provides basic explanations to most of experimentally observed phenomena so far. Yet it is generally believed that this model, though works well in the present energy regions, is an approximation of more fundamental theory. Among the reasons for believing so, I mention just one aspect of the standard model. Namely, there are too many free parameters, especially relating to quark masses and mixings between the quark generations.
