Abstract
The International Conference on Physics and Technology in the 1990's, organized by the Samahang Pisika ng Pilipinas (Physics Society of the Philippines), was held on 1-4 December 1992 at the University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman, Quezon City. The conference had some interesting features: (a) it was the first of its kind conducted in the Philippines, covering new developments in different areas of physics, applied physics and technology, with discussions on current trends toward technologies of the future and their impact on the ASEAN region; and (b) it was held simultaneously, in the same venue, with the International Conference on Physics for Development organized by the UP Institute for Science & Mathematics Education Development. Physics teachers and researchers, therefore, had ample opportunity to interact and discuss each other's activities.
