Abstract

The modified Artificial Bee Colony Algorithm was incorporated in the best hive selection model for optimization. The codes used were in the C language. Given the food sources in different matrix dimension distributions located at different positions, the predator's positions were assigned. The program then calculated the best hive position based from the coordinates of the predator and the food source by using the distance formula. Each simulation successfully reiterated until the location wherein the hive is in the nearest distance from the food source while being far enough from the predator was chosen.
