Abstract

This paper describes the preparation and characterization of Y Ba2Cu3O7−δ films using infrared (λ= 1064 nm) Nd:YAG Pulsed Laser Deposition (IR Nd:YAG PLD) with post heat treatment. The as-deposited films have a spheroidal surface morphology. After heat treatment, the film surface contains micron- size rectangular grains. XRD measurement reveals that films are a-axis and c-axis oriented. With oxygen annealing, the films show Tc of about 70 K. The low value Tc is attributed to the granularity of the film and may require appropriate post heat treatment to increase Tc.
