Abstract

In this paper, we investigate the behavior of two classes of agents X, Y having allelomimetic tendency α in a confined space of size L x L. Allelomimesis, in our case, is defined to be the tendency of an agent to move to a location in its Von-Neumann neighborhood that is vacant and at the same time closest to the center of mass (xcm , ycm ) of agents of similar class present within its prescribed radius of influence r. We show that r drives the segregation process of the agents such that a large value of r returns a state that is ordered and least random. Moreover, r also influences the number and size s of clusters formed. The allelomimesis index, on the other hand, dictates the degree of compactness of the clusters formed in the system.
