Interevent time statistics and predictions of hospitalizations in Cavite, Philippines
Abstract
We analyzed the daily time series of ten hospitalizations in De La Salle University Medical Center in Cavite. By interevent time statistics, it was known that there are newly admitted patients every day, a day after or 9 days after a previous admission. ARIMA(1,0,1) predictions show that digestive diseases, pregnancy and cardiovascular diseases are the most influenced hospitalizations. Moreover, all hospitalizations are significantly influenced by the climate factors except by wind speed, and minimum and Earth skin temperature although some are affected by latter climate factors. The past values and climate factors do influence but do not completely define the future number of the hospitalizations.
