Abstract

A technique for enhanced imaging of objects embedded in a diffusive medium using adhesive tapes is demonstrated experimentally and confirmed numerically. A wave propagation-based model was used to simulate how adding an adhesive tape on a diffuser plate improves the visibility of the objects hidden behind the diffuser as observed experimentally. The application of adhesive tape was modeled as a smoothened version of the diffuser and was observed to increase the visibility of the hidden object.
