Partonic cross section for muon pair hadroproduction with Higgs boson mediator

Abstract

The partonic cross section for the hadroproduction of muon pair was calculated. This process resulted from the collision of two hadrons (e.g. proton-proton) as the initial state. The three mediators considered in the study are the photon, Z0 boson, and the Higgs boson. The differential cross section was subjected to high energy limit and expressed in terms of Mandelstam variables. The effect of the three processes with the calculated differential cross section was also investigated.
